About Me
My name is Pace. I am an aerospace engineer and a lifelong Chicago Cubs fan. When I'm not thinking about airplanes, I'm usually thinking about baseball. I created this blog to share things I find interesting about my favorite sport and serve as a repository of personal projects.
A few years ago, I started to get into statistics and machine learning, primarily as a way to build relevant skills for my job at the time. I picked up some books on machine learning and decided to started brainstorming ideas for ways to apply it. I quickly realized baseball was a perfect sandbox for data science. Not only are there lots of publically available data, but it's a field with a rich culture of analytics. I started having a ton of fun, and what started as an exercise to build career-relevant skills quickly turned into an addictive hobby.
